Looks like I’m heading to LA to do some scouting for a work trip. I’ve never really been before (drove through on I-5 back in 2004 and landed at LAX while heading to Hawaii for work last year, but that’s it). I’m guessing I’ll have a couple hours in the downtown area actually working but then I’ll be free to roam until the next morning. I need at least a good lunch (I might do In-N-Out as we don’t have them here in Seattle) & dinner spot (I’m staying near the Staples Center) and a couple “must do’s”.
So Opponauts, what are your suggestions?

It’s reaaaalllyyyy hot right now, so just go to the beach cities like Santa Monica or Malibu. Maybe go on a hike in those areas, or find a good driving road on the PCH. But In n Out is definitely a must!

I don’t exactly have what you’d call a beach body, so that’s not gonna happen. Also I live in the PNW, so my pasty white skin would cause panic from the tanned masses.

Oh okay! My friends and I usually hike and eat when we go to LA, so I can totally help you find some good food places! like Pink’s hot dogs on fairfax, they are really famous. but they only accept cash so plan ahead, also Unami burgers are pretty popular, but portions are small. my favorite is slaters 50/50 in Pasadena because the portions are huge and the patties are half bacon and have ground beef... man now I’m hungry. Also Porto’s is delicious as well, but mostly for their pastries, their food is good too, but it doesn’t come close to their dessert.

Wow, I visited a friend in LA a couple months ago. We went to Pinks, Unami Burger, and Porto’s. I guess were on the same page.

Hahaha no way really!? I’m really surprise about Porto’s because that one isn't as famous.
